Ecological desk study

An ecological desk study forms part of an initial screening of a site in order to ascertain likely ecological constraints. Typically ecological records are requested from the relevant local ecological records centre and these are interpreted by CS Ecology with respect to UK and European wildlife legislation and any likely implications for your site.

There may be gaps in such ecological data which are often filled by further requests from specialist local groups (e.g. bat or badger groups). In addition, publicly available web resources are consulted for further information including: the government's interactive environmental website MAGIC and Natural England's Nature on the Map.

CS Ecology interprets desk records and tells you what they mean for your site, rather than just providing a list of perhaps otherwise meaningless species and site records.

Please contact CS Ecology for further information and a no obligation quotation.
